The recent transfer window in the Premiership has seen frantic activity especially from the bottom clubs resulting in the largest transfer “boom” in recent years. This is probably because of the many new managers appointed to their posts in recent times and January is the time where they need to bring in their own players to prove they are better than their predecessors. Marco Van Basten’s unique approach to managing Holland has caused many an upheaval in the media. Most of the time though, he has gotten the most out of unfanciable players and in fact, marketed local talent in the Dutch league on the world stage.
The premiership with its huge worldwide support and influx of foreign cash has increasing spending power when it comes to transfers and teams in the lower part of the league are beginning to look to Holland to pick up the journeyman and youngsters that Holland and Van Basten are bleeding.

The Big 4 in the premiership all won this weekend but the biggest winner is probably the English Premiership. With their opponents Portsmouth, Man City, Tottenham and even Sunderland putting strong performances against these teams full of World Class players, we can only expect a scintillating season in the premiership.

The Spanish La Liga ended on a high. The last day of the season was all high drama with Real eventually prevailing and Barcelona (even after thrasing Gimnastic and scoring 5 goals) coming in a close second(on the same points as Real). These are this seasons top players composed into a winning XI.

Tottenham, under Martin Jol, have managed to finish 5th for 2 seasons now and almost 4th if not for some last day drama, whereby half the team was brought down by some suspicious lasagna. They have also shown their European calibre by making it to the semis of the UEFA Cup. This feature is about those players who have made this revolution possible.
